In order to protect Gorham Firemen during the times they may be wearing a SCBA device, they are required to have a PASS unit connected to the harness of the SCBA or have the PASS unit securely connected to their protective clothing.
While in the building, or when ever the SCBA unit is providing breathing air the PASS unit must be in the (ALARM POSITION). This will help to call attention to them in case they should become disabled while working at the scene.
