Convention Committee Meeting

January 24, 2001

  1. Parade Committee: Need to wait until after July 4th to send in for permits, will discuss parade route after finalizing things with Vince Jarosz from the antique fire apparatus organizations.
  2. Shirts: There will be polo shirts for GFD members & staff. The logo has been designed and they may possibly be forest green. The cost per shirt will be $18.00, each person will buy their own. Hopefully, there will be shirts at the February 6th meeting for members to try on for size. The t-shirts to sell will be discussed at the next convention meeting.
  3. Venders: Will start work on letter tomorrow. Will charge $50.00 per table and ask for something for the raffle, will also include ad form.
  4. Freedom Express: Schedule Friday—4-12; Saturday—9-12; Sunday—9-3.
  5. Companion Program: Next Meeting
  6. Entertainment: Dance Friday night at the Legion is being worked on.
  7. Saturday 1-4 Dale Moore will be at the station 1-4 pm

    Saturday 6-9 Ryan Leighton will provide dinner music. Ryan is donating his music and time.

    Sunday morning, 9AM, there will be a mass to honor Fallen Firefighters at the Holy Family

    Church.

  8. Food & Refreshments: Friday night a spaghetti supper will be put on at the Gorham Fire Department by the Shelburne Fire Dept. We will get a cost and a menu at the next meeting. We are looking into the possibility of having a hospitality room at the T&C with a beer wagon and food. There will also be snack food at the station all day Saturday. There will be a breakfast Sunday morning at the American Legion. We will have the use of the Trail Master tent.
  9. Raffle: Will start collecting prizes and we need tickets for 50/50.
  10. Round Table: 10 AM in the Gold Room at the T&C. Speaker…NHFA Director Mason???
  11. Hospitality Room: Greenery Room??? Will need a license to get the Budweiser Beer Wagon.
  12. Clean-up Committee: Will have to start making plans on what they want to do and how and when it is going to get done.
  13. American Legion: Will be serving breakfast Sunday Morning—need times. Friday night’s entertainment has not been arranged yet.
  14. Ad Book: Janet explained what the cost per ad is, and that she will work on the forms tomorrow. Letters will be sent to local merchants in Berlin & Gorham prior to us going out and selling ads.
  15. Golf Tournament: Will be Friday, and we are looking for a sponsor.
  16. The next convention meeting will be February 28th at 6:30PM. All are welcome to attend!
