NEW BUSINESS

·         Engine 4’s road to pump motor has been repaired.

·         The #1 tank discharge valve is leaking by a little, this may be a problem when suctioning.

SOP REVIEW

·         “Handling Spills and Leaks”

Post Incident Review

3/12 Car Wash Fire

Pull tank valve before leaving station, this will help you get water faster at the scene.

3/18 Butson’s MVA

Need note pads in each of the apparatus.

The speedy dry was empty.  Drivers need to replace items that are used after each incident.

A.Perry repeater channel is not working properly.

C. Miller pager is not toning properly.

3/23 GGT Fire

When backing truck up to the porta-tank, use clear hand sign.  Signal should be discussed before using them so that everyone is clear on what the signals are.  A person should stand near the driver’s side edge of the porta-tank when giving direction.

Do not wait for tankers to be completely empty, fill the porta-tank and send the tanker to get refilled.  This will help keep a better rotation of the tankers.

Should have called for another alarm, we were short of help.

Deck gun use up the water fast, maybe we should consider not using it when shuttling water; or pull the tankers in and have them unload directly on the fire with there deck guns.

Water flow needs to be monitored closer when firefighters are making an interior attack.

The ambulance was placed in a bad location, but it was not going to leave the scene.

The reason GGT pump stopped, was that there was not any more water in the pond.

The State Police did a good job controlling the traffic.

A preplan for water sources would have been helpful.

All radios should be programmed with the priority channel first and so forth.

There was too much radio traffic.  We were being walk over by the highway department, school, and water and sewer.  The tanker shuttle was on state fire ground channel, and fire ground communication was on our channel.

A safety office should have been appointed.
